Being back at work today, its like it all never happened :/

Yep in today and New Years day :(

Currently nursing a cold too and felt like **** this morning. Don't think it would have gone down too well phoning in sick so dragged myself in - so don't get too close :p

Same here i feel like death warmed up but i dont think id be very popular if i phoned in sick for my 23.00-07.00 night shift :( Any other night than NYE and id have rung in without a doubt.

Xmas is a joke. Two+ months of utterly hysterical build up for two cold wet dark days. Having a nasty little cold start up on Christmas Eve morning did not help matters and neither has this months weather.

Was back at work on the 27th and I'm glad it's all over for another year. Ho Ho Ho! :p

OP: I don't think it helps when the media rolls out the same cheesy xmas turds they do every year; it cheapens the xmas feels.

The radio, for example, is terrible for it and it kinda grates on me a bit.

Had a good Christmas this year but then having a kid who is at the age where he gets excited and can't wait makes a huge difference. Tree down this morning and having a good de-clutter after all the decorations are down. Off work for another week as well so just going to take it easy and relax.

I've been off since Xmas Eve, but that's because I'm moving 170 miles on Wednesday. So most of today and tomorrow will be packing. I'm back at work on Friday, and it will be the most relaxing bit of the week.

It was so bleak going to work this morning, coming into Bristol it would seem that all but a handful of people still had Christmas lights up, if any put them up at all.

Is it me or did it feel, un-Christmassy this year, i guess its a lot to do with my age and the fact i dont have any kids...

The Shire - Shirehampton? :-)

It depends who you work for I guess. With previous and current employer, I would typically be back on 2nd January. With previous employer though, it was like working with death eaters and Christmas was already over by 2nd Jan. Current employer are much nicer though and the Christmas spirit stays until Twelfth Night.

Epic day for me.
Got in at 9.
Given 6.5% payrise at 10
At 12 all of us went to the pub
Had three pints
Got back to the office at 3 and went straight out of the door to catch a train to wales :D

Maybe I'm just a sourpuss but nothing this year felt like Christmas. Worked the 25th/26th and back to work on Thursday as usual. And ya know, not once did I hear 'Do they know it's Christmas' anywhere. Granted, I don't watch any tv or listen to the radio ever but I would've heard it somewhere. That song announces Christmas to me. And I didn't hear it. Thus Christmas was lost for '12.

Maybe next year!

Already seeing some stores planning for the spring ranges, quite disgusting tbh, wettest year on record....

Is it just me or are the seasons changing? We get snow in march/April the past couple of years, then blistering heat in September. Odd.

Sorry to be the one that has to tell you this, but Christmas just doesn't happen any more. It's over.

I personally find the fact that spring ranges are being put up in stores DISGUSTING - yes, I am that outraged.

If you don't watch tv or listen to the radio then surely you're not going to hear it, unless you put it on yourself.

Yeah, we had a mild 2011/12 winter, then April 2012 was our proper winter i.e. regularly -5C at night, 0C at day. This went well into May too. I do like an Indian summer though because it's not humid as opposed to August.
