Currently only use 1 monitor and have a single gtx 670

would i be better getting a radeon 7790 or SLI 670s, i could sell the gtx 670 for 300 so its not much more just buying a 7790

There's no such thing as a 7790, do you possibly mean a 7970 (it's a single GPU card).

What are you reasons for wanting to upgrade?

ok iv bit the bullet and just bought another 670 for SLI, i know its overkill but it will be better for future games

I'm not sure about that :) One problem I have with SLI is the amount of VRAM effectively remains the same (2GB, not 4GB). They are basically mirrored. So that could be a potential bottleneck, although remaining at 1080p, might not be. When a dual GPU card says 3GB, 4GB, they physically have double the amount on the card.

They may have double the amount of RAM but its still 2Gb per GPU so its no different to having 2 single cards :)
