Hi there,

Ive been looking online for a battery for my clio 2004 1.5 diesel but so far eurocarparts said I need a 027 but halfords says I need a 013 some even said 075. Now i dont know what to buy

I checked my manual and the current battery that is on and none of them says what number should I use.

Also if I ever managed to get a new battery is it pretty much plug n play or do i need to do something about the electronics and anti theft?
Me and my dad havent got a clue since the last time we replaced a battery ourselves was on a 1986 toyota corona when we were still back at our contry :p

What you also have to take into consideration does the car need a lead or calcium battery? I found this out when I changed mine a couple of days ago. Something to do with Fords smart charge system.

Cheers glad to know its just plug n play

Well that makes battery finding even more complicated :D

Just found out that the current battery has a Pb symbol on it and I assume its Lead

Now can I use a calcium battery like the bosch ? The manual is very useless when it comes to this things lol

Yeah, of course. Think of the Silver calcium from Bosch as a Lithium upgrade. They are better, have a better cranking cold time and have 3-5 year warranties.

Nice. I did more googling and the only difference i saw between 013, 027 and 075 was height and +/- 10 start up power

Is it safe to just measure the dimensions of my current battery and pick the closes between the three ?

The differences between most batteries are, amps, terminal diameter, terminal height and position of positive and negative terminal can be swapped. Get a battery with the right capacity and watch out for the terminal position that can catch people out if you can't reach the terminal with the lead because the negative and positive are swapped.

took a gamble on europarts suggestion and went for the bosch s4 027. same amp and terminal locations as my current one

if it doesnt fit ill just return it i guess
