I am. I normally take it down the day before I go back to work, but seeing as that's tomorrow, I've decided I can't stand seeing it any more and it's time for it to go back in the loft for another year.

Thoughts? Am I an Ebeneezer? :)

I will keep tree / lights / decor up until Twelfth Night (6th Jan), which conveniently falls in a weekend this time round.

Edit: didn't know it was the 7th Jan. Always known it as 6th over here.

Twelth night, is the evening of january 5th, twelth day itself is the sixth, which confuses the bejesus out of a lot of folk.

The dictionary definition states - "the evening of the fifth of January, preceding Twelfth Day, the eve of the Epiphany, formerly the last day of the Christmas festivities and observed as a time of merrymaking".

Seriously, what is that :p

No tinsel, no bloody baubles, no gaps where you can't be bothered to match everything up or reach, and no having to hoover up tinsel which falls to bits.

Yes, I have been incredibly lazy this time around. I normally go nuts, but hated putting them up, and taking them down. It took me about 4 minutes today :p

No its not.

Mine has been taken down today. I know loads of people who took it down on the 27th/28th!

Of course people can take them down earlier, but traditionally its until the twelfth night. I suppose many also take them down just because of time, if you are back to work, you might not have a chance to do so. I think its more the keeping it up past the twelfth night which is the frowned upon thing. Saying that though, most real trees start looking a bit tired come January anyways.

Well, I say tree, Mine is now a digital tree.

I second the.... what?

Well, I suppose it beats my effort from a few years ago:

We will do ours tomorrow or weekend.

Most of the decorations have removed from around the house and outside lights.

I'll be taking mine down on Saturday. Only because I'm back to work tomorrow and can't be bothered to do anything on my last day of slob!

The traditional time is take them down after the epiphany (When the Wise Men arrive to pay homage) and the 12th day of Christmas (The first day is the 26th)

It used to be tradition to leave them up until February 2nd or Candlemas Day as that was considered to be the end of the Christmas Period.

We normally take them down the weekend of the Epiphany.
