My main issue is one of stability, after installing the Belgian release, I had a phone that spent 90% of its time in a locked up/ frozen state, completely unusable and it would take ages before the reset worked.
Going for the GB one and will see what happens

Mines been pretty stable so far. :D

Also get Thumba and the likes to resize images for forum posting. Straight from SkyDrive, images are at taken resolution, way too big.

Mr Jones, do you use any of the Nokia downloadable lenses? Do you edit the photo?

All the sample photos I've seen online are better than anything I can get the camera to produce. One of the reasons I got this phone was due to the camera.

Chaaars.

More really positive news for Windows Phone.

Windows Phone fastest growing operating system of 2012 with 290% growth

Windows Phone has ended 2012 with a bang, crossing the 1% worldwide net usage market share barrier to end December with 1.05% of mobile internet usage, according to NetMarketShare.

While this of course represents only a small percentage of all users, it is of note that the operating system is the fastest growing mobile operating system, with growth close to 6 times that of Android and 18 times that of iOS.

From Expansys:

Nokia Lumia 920 4G LTE Clarification

It has come to our attention recently there have been claims of the Nokia Lumia 920 unlocked smartphones sold by Expansys do not have 4G LTE capability. We have looked into this issue and can confirm that any Nokia Lumia 920 phones sold from Expansys will be able to connect to a 4G LTE network.

Currently, the only network offering 4G LTE capabilities in the UK is the EE network. So it is not the phone that is missing 4G LTE, it is the network.

If you are using a network other than EE in the UK, your Lumia 920 will use a 3G network instead. When your network operater launches a 4G LTE network for smartphones, Nokia, together with the operator, will be releasing an update for the Lumia 920 so you will be able to access the fastest possible data speeds.

Timo Joutsenvirta, from the Nokia Technology Marketing Team has stated:

“If you are not sure if 4g lte network is available you can check with your operator, if it is not available with your lumia 820 and lumia 920 you will be able to use the 3g instead the good thing is when your operator launches the 4g lte network for smartphones, nokia together with the operator will be releasing an update to lumia 820 and lumia 920 so you will be able to access the fastest possible data speeds when they become available.”

I use Thumba mainly, it's lightroom equivalent in WP8, very good for editing on the go - no touch up brushes though. The photos from the phone needs some editing, it's very level straight out, so a tweak helps.

I also started using an app call CameraPro - allows you direct change of settings and even "manual" focus, it's amazing!

And if you like Instantgram type filters, Fhotoroom is awesome, good community too.

Peew - probably not the case to be honest with the issue I am having even though I bought mine from Clove. maybe a different batch... no idea.

andy: any confirmation about the enabling of 4G? :)

im referring to the one you used yesterday (the update you had done yesterday) :)

I just updated using the same product code as my current code (CV_GB) which doesn't have 4G enabled.

I believe there is a chappy here > Link who is running German firmware who has 4G enabled.

Not app data unfortunately in my experience.

Nor game saves but if you haven't had the phone for that long that shouldn't be a big issue. It's still a massive step up from WP7 that had no backup at all.

I've had a stable battery for a few weeks now after the last time I posted about this issue. The problem I originally had was that I was losing 10-15% on flight mode overnight with only the cnn, bbc news and the battery apps allowed to run in the background.

Somebody quite rightly posted that the two news apps would try and pull through new data every hour. I sorted them out and all good.

Last night my battery went from 44% to 4% on flight mode! The only thing I can think is that I had just been on whatsapp before switching it to flight mode and can't be 100% that I had closed the app :(

The only slight (and I do mean slight) quibble I have is with the battery, compared to the 4S I had it does eat it faster. Don't get me wrong I really love the phone and don't miss IOS at all. Yes I also know that it isn't the phones fault if I have poorly written apps on it.

I have had issues with battery life as well. I think that Whatsapp is a battery drain, far more so than it was for me on iOS. I don't really want to uninstall Whatsapp but I really hope they can improve its background performance soon otherwise I will have to.
