Hello everyone!
I have been given a machine and all it is missing is a graphics card. I only want it to play Dayz on high settings and maybe some other things. Ive been told to get the MSI HD 7950 but others have said i wont need one that powerful.

So what would you recommend?
Thank you

Spec
E8600 Overclocked to 4.1ghz
4GB G skill DDR2 1066mhz
Asus Maximus Formula X38/ICH9R Motherboard
256GB SSD

Thats what i keep hearing i know what bottle-necking is but what does it mean in terms of computers?

The PC only runs as fastest as its slowest component, having a good GPU but a slow CPU will mean in gaming the CPU will be maxing itself out while the GPU is almost idling.

Well, a Q9450 would certainly eliminate a large amount if not all of the bottleneck, but im not sure whether it's a good use of money.

The Performance of that chip is on the same level (may perform a little better due to having more cores) as the ivy i3 3220.

Though, It means in a few years to keep pace with games you would need to start from scratch.

Sorry to bring this up again but my PSU doesn't have the power points for the 7950 card. Not sure what to look for with a PSU so can someone give me a link to one please that can power the 7950? Thanks

Looking at prices, they are very expensive on OcUK. Not just the Graphics cards creeping up in price by the looks of things :(

That PSU will do just fine though.
