What is it with Manchester people?

How could one possibly have chips or anything like that on a tea cake? Tea cakes have raisins in them.

"Batch" in the Midlands afaik unless it's bacon filled then it's a butty (dunno why).

When I lived in Sheffield I think it was "bap" up there.

Barm? new to me.

I find it odd that people gave you looks when you asked for a bread bun. It isn't difficult to figure out what you're saying. People need to get over themselves and accept that we don't use the same term for everything as they may do where "you" live.

Having worked all over the country it's easier to ask for a sandwich now :D

The confusion of the barm, bap, bun, butty, teacake isn't worth it.
