Hi all,

Firstly I dont own an iphone or ipad :D

Can anyone please guide me around the gui to increase the email retention period?

Basically we have a user that says her emails from iphone\ipad gets deleted after 2 days, I know this is probably a retention settings, but have no clue about the gui to change this.

According to google it is:

Go to Settings
Go to Mail, Contacts, Calendars
Click on your account.
Look down for Mail Days to Sync--set as "No Limit"

But user says this does not exist? Please halp!

The customer's wrong, just checked and the setting is where google says it is.

That is only true if GMail is setup to sync via exchange. If the customer has setup mail to sync via IMAP then that setting won't exist.

It sounds like the customer has another mail client which is downloading and then deleting the mail from the server.

I agree. I sync my mail via imap (google apps), I've never set either my iPhone and iPad to retain anything. They have access to 5 years worth (25000) emails still retained on gmail servers. I use Outlook on my PC, which has to be told not to delete mail on the gmail servers.

The mail app will only show x amount of messages at a time, if you have one account then thats fine if you have more than one account it shows less messages per account, if that makes sense

This is an Exchange account:
