Far Cry 3 Thread

I hope you don't mind a little bit of feedback, but 27 seconds before seeing any gameplay on a gameplay video is too long. I'd have either skipped to the middle of the video or just gone back to the search results and found another one if I hadn't followed the link from here.

It will help viewers if you also put the platform you're playing on in the title and/or description. If it's on PC (which I'm assuming it is because of where this is posted) people may also like to know what spec you're playing on and what settings you're using.

FAR CRY 3 GAME PLAY 1

As someone that has just finished FC3, I thought the gameplay was a bit... mediocre, I certainly wouldnt have recorded it and put it online :p

I remember doing this mission and i went right around the back where the commander is, took the guy by the container down and went straight in for the commander - took all of 2 mins :)

That's what I'm loving about FC3, so many different ways to complete a mission. I'm liking going stealthy more often than not, although when it goes from I just go mental and blow everything up! :D

Thank you for your feedback. as I am new to doing vids, I will look in to getting better gameplay and mixing it up.
You have to start somewhere right.

So what is this about anyway?

How do you survive after clearly seemingly being killed at certain points?

How is your character such a bad arse? Just because of some tatows?

Whats with the jump cuts at certain mission ends like its some kind of dream?

Whats with the dreams?

Every single one of those questions can be answered with two words - No idea.

I really enjoyed Far Cry 3, but I knew from pretty early on that the story was to be ignored, infact I would call the story awful on every level.

What do you my clearly being killed at certain points? I can't remember one, except one, which was a bit ridiculous and unoriginal, I guess they had to keep the story going.

It's the progression of the character, the whole game is centred around the idea of you slowly becoming insane and becoming a lethal killing machine, worse that all the other insane people on the island, loosing youself and forgeting the main objective, hence the LAice in Wonderland quotes, hence some of the story twists (and ending, won't say mre than that just in case)

I think the 1v1 death scene's/fights (are you talking about them) is the emphasise that this character your're about to face, is the only person in the entire world you want to kill at that one point. It also shows that you are even more insane than the person you are about to kill.

If you played the game would notice that before every dream, you are given some sort of drug that makes you hallucinate.

Anyway, I just finished the game myself, GOTY for me, really good game. Only criticism for me is that towards the end everything felt a bit rushed (Once you get to the second island), and the fact that there really isn't moral choice until the end is kinda annoying, but I can see why they did it.

Completed the game today. Has to be my game of 2012 :)

Even though I didn't craft a single stupid syringe to use at any point :D

Well you clearly get stabbed by Vass and lay down on the floor and then it goes to some weird dream sequence. You also get shot by him and coincidentally survive, also burning building, also drowned. I'm wondering if this isnt like Jacobs Ladder or something, you died in the sky dive and this whole thing is some tripped out death hallucination.

Aside from the constant crashing, horrible scopes, CO-OP that doesn't work, interactive cut scenes and dealing with Ubisoft servers dieing a lot this game isn't all that bad to kill some time on

Had no crashing, and completed co-op with my mate fine. Som scopes are horrid and I'm not sure about the server crashing. Some people have all the luck it seems.

I think the whole killing Vaas thing was a hallucination, e.g. when there were multiple Vaas's running towards you, those were actually pirates while returning to the temple, hence waking up from the drug induced dream at the temple, I dunno, because when Vaas is about to hit you the screen goes all fuzzy/blurry hinted at the fact your on drugs, further more backed up by the fact light starts pouring out, but when you shoot him that's for real. Oh end also, doesn't he say something along the lines of "You are me, and I am you, so when he stabs you, it actually like you are stabbing him, and then this is backed up in the underwater trippy scene when you can see Vaas turning into Jason, and vica versa
