New Sony pre-owned block tech patent

Does it really matter, once fully digital the second hand and rental markets are gone anyway and unless they really push this to be ready for the PS4 it probably won't be here much all that soon anyway.

Preowned is dumb anyway. Well for some reason all the preowned games are £1 less than new...

So effectively what they're saying is that I won't be able to take my games around a mate's house for a night of gaming and beers and neither will mates be able to lend games to each other any more?

What happens when the game is no longer for sale new? It is then impossble to play, ever unless it is re released or you buy the game along with someones PS4 and usertag?

My guess is they will charge a fee for you to play a preowned game or something along those lines they are gonna want to make money from this :p

That's only if you buy recently released games. Pre-owned is good for older games. And it's great if you want to trade in to offset the price of a new game.

This doesn't bother me at all, I don't buy used games and I don't trade them in. I'd rather see them come up with something that will stop piracy for good though but if this is what it takes to support the industry and ensure we get future releases then so be it.
