Spikes?

But the only real way to stop bass is density or distance.

Strong bass will rattle your furniture when driven loud enough though even if it is isolated and hung off the ceiling with fishing wire.
Yeah I understand that. :) Just wondered if I could do something that would alleviate the problem, if only a little bit. :D

Have you considered shaving your head and wearing a mask?

:p

haha, yeah I liked the coat for a while, was meant to go as Bane for halloween last year but never got around to it ;)

I didn't mis/quote you, actually. However, I did judge from your response that you didn't like the fact I did quote you.

I don't see that as a retraction, and I still wanted to reply. Biggie.

Anyway, let's skip all this foreplay and get to the real ****ing where I can boast at how much I spent on a car before I was 25 pls.

If you want to minimise some of the energy directly transferring to the floor then yes, spikes. Speakers are commonly sitting on spikes for this reason. They normally sound better too.

Like this.

Not quite. Spikes generally couple the speaker to the floor, not de-couple. It's more for physical stability which may theoretically reduce colourations or unwanted resonations in the sound due to the speaker cabinet moving/wobbling as a result of the frequencies it creates.

If you want to isolate a speaker from its surface, you want thick solid rubber (or some other material) sound deadening materials. Bass isn't directional. The sound waves will travel through the walls however you position it.

This came thorugh the post today. Bought the 4gb one at the same time but only the 8gb one came so far.

Hope the other one turns up tomorrow as it is the better looking one.

Ah right.

I think he meant spikes under the subwoofer? (search for speaker spikes/cone)
OK. :)

I was initially thinking of getting a thick solid rubber mat. I know it won't do a lot but if it helps a bit that's good. :)

The most effective method of stopping bass from being heard throughout the house is to turn down the volume, I'm afraid

It's come its come

Please don't ask for competitors emailed to you.

Given that you have tested it OK I assume it must be genuine and never know on eBay which sellers are trusted for this sort of thing.
Apparently a lot of fakes around?

...and that will tell you the seller he used? Amazing.

No, but it will direct him to a UK seller with free P&P for £47 that won't sell fake for practically the same price he paid from Hong Kong that takes a week to get here with no risk of customs.

Google it. Top result.

He bought it from Hong Kong through eBay because he thought it cost £80 in the UK, not £47.

Bad advice Janesy?
