Whilst the old house is for sale and empty, I am living with my dad. I have been doing a few hours work at Argos over Christmas whilst still claiming JSA, I have declared all my earnings to them and it's been deducted from my JSA payments.

So, today, my dad visited the old house to check on it and there was a letter from the Job Centre. I have read it and they paid the house a visit yesterday and are now threatening to stop my benefits due to me not being at home :mad:

Now, Since October/November they have had my new address on there file so why visit the old house and visit without any warning? I have tried to contact them but there office is closed until Monday here, when I due to sign on again.

Should I be worried?

They can stop your benefits because you don't sit at home all day when you don't have a job?

What if you were out looking for a job, something doesn't add up here, it has to be more than just because you weren't at home.

I suspect they'd be more obvious signs then not answering a door that he'd emptied the house so it was ready for sale.

None the less, it does sound a bit odd.

More likely to be that they think he is on the fiddle, claiming at his house but living elsewhere, in a couple of years when their system catches up they will see the error.

They can't do owt till Monday morning & by the time they have stopped picking there ****** you will already have phoned them or gone down & put them right, No biggy stop stressing, Drama Llamas are for girls.

They won't stop your benefits over the weekend. Have a polite chat with them on Monday morning to explain your situation. Now go and enjoy your weekend.
