Tyres: Need 4 Where's Best?

Event Tyres? They're mobile and usually reasonably priced...

I've used these lot fairly recently to replace a punctured tyre. They weren't the cheapest but they were reasonable and could get and fit the tyre I wanted on the same day so I didn't have to travel far on the space saver.

I think I used event before and they were good. Thanks for your input everyone, will sort something tomorrow as ran out of time today.

£310 per rear, not worth the extra money for a motorway muncher.
Aren't they priced pretty similarly to Continental CS5 etc? I have a very similar size (275/30/R19 - lower profile, for 535d sporting prowess) and the price difference isn't particularly significant.

Im not a huge fan of Goodyear as they tend to have softer sidewalls and in my experience, wear poorly.

I've been hugely impressed with the life of my F1A2's. They are now at the point where my previous CS3's required changing and I've still got 5mm of tread!

Actually it shows what a lottery this is. Ive just seen the Michs are cheaper on Camskill when they are quite a bit more everywhere else.

I was just about to say - depends where from. I'd build a little price matrix of the top 3 suppliers and the top 3 tyres you want, then go from there.

£228.50 including nothing @ Camskill, plus the tinternet will confirm that PSS last 3 times longer than PS2, which in turn last 4 times longer than all other tyres, put together, and all the while sticking like brown and smelly to a blanket!

Plus you'd have the kudos that comes with having tyres that say *super* right there on the sidewall! Women will pretty much throw themselves at you...

Can you not get SuperSports? I'd wager they'd last twice as long as Conti 3's easily and considerably longer than Conti 5's whilst offering same or better ability.

Anyone got any tests with the SuperSports in to hand?

All I can tell you is on the 911 they are sublime.

Dry grip is marginally better than the PS2 and the PS2 is still one of the best dry performing summer tyres, so a good result.
Wet grip is miles ahead of the PS2!
Road noise is less!
Dry braking is more stable.
Wear rate is more than twice as good, infact 3x better.

All compared to PS2!

I've done 7 track days, 10,000+ road miles and they've still got 3-4mm left, there is no other tyre I know off which gives such incredible performance whilst lasting so long.

I got 4000 miles out of the PS2s on the back of my GT3 with the track geo, they were showing cord at 4K!

Well on one track day I took 3mm out of PS2's, great tyre but don't last long.

Trust me the SuperSport in my opinion is the best road tyre in existence, it's abilities are immense, even at near freezing wet conditions the grip was immense, far better than Winter tyres in wet conditions just above freezing.

So to have all that performance and last so long is quite unreal!
They are only beaten in dry and for track use by more dedicated track rubber.

The record so far is 33,000 miles from a set of rears on a 911.
In the US Michelin even guarantee a minimum of 15,000 road miles from the rears, simply epic!

P.S. In case you wondered the feel and communication is superb as PS2's will very highly regarded their and the MPSS is better. :)

P.S.2 Be interesting to see how the replacement Pirelli Corsa last and compare. Suspect that the 60 AAA tread wear means not long. :D
