Job Centre threatening to stop my benefits.

The letter reads

A Customer Compliance Officer called to see you on 03/01/13 at 10.40 am but you were not at home.

We will need to visit you again. We will contact you with another date and time to visit you.

If you have to go out or already have an appointment with someone else, please tell us straight away. Our phone number is at the top of this letter. We will contact you with another date and time to visit you.

If we fail to contact you again or you miss another house visit, we may be forced to stop your benefits.

So...the fact that they never contacted me the first time means nothing? Am I supposed to stay in and not go looking for a job? Not hand in Cv's, just incase they turn up un-announced? It's a pretty poor system to be honest, they really don't help find a job, only moan when you can't get one. The Job Centre is really only a poor way of handling the unemployed, not a service to help - which is should help really...

I don't see the problem, it says they're going to contact you to schedule another visit. Obviously for whatever reason they aren't aware that you don't live at the property anymore and you'll need to go in and speak to somebody in person. Not sure why you aren't checking your house for mail on a daily basis but whatever.

Standard template letter. The person who visited it probably didn't even issued it, maybe phoned the office on his way to the next visit and told em you weren't in.
