£400 low end gaming pc

I think my resolution is 1280x760

In that case, a A8/A10 build will take anything you throw at it. The A10 plays BF3 on medium/high settings at 720p, I remember seeing a video on it on the YouBoobs.

Na use use a laptop or a friends computer and the Windows USB tool to make the stick bootable :) then use the USB to install the OS.

I've never done it that way before, so I don't know how much of a faff it really is.

For the resolution you have listed a trinity build would work fine, though a 1155 set up will be more versatile and flexible in future should you want to upgrade or use a higher resolution.

APU sounds like the better deal and was suggested to me with a lower budget..

oh and just to add, you can buy win7 64bit for less than 80 if you shop around online otherwise might aswell just pay the 50 on here and get win8.

isn't the £50 version of win8 the upgrade for which you need win7?
full edition is £80

Yeah, 3970x and SLI 690 would be defo be better than i5 and 7850.... Only issue is the price...

Your setup exceeds budget by nearly twice.

I specced this because he said he's thinking of selling his Xbox and adding £300 onto the budget of £400.
£400+£300=£700
It's just a suggestion for him to see if he does decide to go ahead and sell his Xbox. Should have read the quote I attached on the same post.
