Hi Guys,
I am just starting out as a wedding videographer and I need a name for my business. If you notice I called it a Wedding Film Business as I don't like it being called a wedding DVD as the amount of different formats a final film can be delivered in is unreal.

Having read reviews, suggestions and quite a few different websites a lot of them recommend using my full name however it can be difficult to spell so I have opted not to go for that and this is were I need your help.

Any suggestions would be great, here is what I have come up with

distinctweddingfilms

+1 for not using film in the name if you are specifically basing your naming choice on not using DVD as thats not the only format you do ... unless you are going to shoot and print to 35mm ;)

As a wedding photographer, film is old fashioned in the eyes of the public, B&G's won't like it.

Standard is "Your Name Videography", or "Your Initials Videography".

With my photography company I was actually quite lucky. My wife suggested "Something Forever Photography" which I use to deal with weddings and family/emotional photography, however it has the added bonus of being my initials so SF Photography deals with all the boring stuff of products etc.

Have a play around with your initials, see what you can come up with.

Also, write down a list of things that a wedding means to you, your style of work etc and see if you can come up with something. Avoid any techno talk, Aperture Photographers for instance means something to those in the no, but to the average jo on the street it means nothing.

Swearing in video.

In regards to weddings, they promote a lot of different things for a lot of different people. For me personally they are religious, linked to not necessarily one God (I am Christian) but you also have the option of Gods from mythology.

So, the question the becomes what Gods from mythology link well to weddings. Having a look around, a name that promotes, victory, fertility, love, I think "Venus" would be a well suited name.

Some sample ideas below.

Venus Production
Venus Spectacle
Venus Display

The One Wedding Videographers
Perfect Day Productions
First Dance Productions
Ring Finger Video (oooh, matron)
Eternal Vows Creative/Productions
Gizabuckatye Shootmasters
