Upgrade for my 4870

I currently have a Gigabyte 1GB 4870 GPU and recently purchased the Samsung SA850 monitor. My issue is that I can no longer play games such as Hitman Absolution, Battlefield 3 etc on high settings as my new LCD has such a large resoultion (2560x1440).

The rest of my specs are still coping fine (i5, 8GB RAM, SSD etc) My question is, what would be a minimum sufficient upgrade to game at this resolution without breaking the bank on a £500 GPU?

For premium, get the 670. If budget is an object for you however, go for the 7950/70 as the extra vram is a bonus for your resolution

Be sure to install the 12.11 beta drivers as well, brings the 7950 up to 670 levels.
