Wages confusion question.

£227.19 per week  How you meant to afford to live on that..

looks like it time to find another Job

Are you serial?

On that I pay for my £300 deposit, 345 a month for house, 29 quid for phone + spotify, 30 quid a week food and 4 quid a week travel (I also get like 12 quid a week on top of my wages for travel, and a weekly pass is 12 week for the bus), so after that I've got £400 a month to just spend on stuff OR save a bit of it.

What is this make believe £345 all in house you speak of :p

£345 all in, virgin tv and broadband too, good house, huge room.

Honestly my spreadsheet is showing it's all affordable.

Food (Weekly) £30
300 Deposit
345 Monthly Rent
£24 Month phone bill
£5 Spottily Unlimited
£4 a week (£200 a year bike storage)

I'd still be coming away with £400 a month almost after tax/ni...

No council tax...?

My monthly rent is £500 and with bills and council tax it's circa £660.

Council tax is included as well as water rates in the 300PCM, £45 on top for all other bills.

There are decent flats in Manchester City Centre that are going for £450 a month ALL bills inc.. I'm living in Fallowfield.

So you will be a lodger, not renting a house I take it? You made it sound like you were renting a house.

£345 inc bills around here would get you a grotty room in a house share with some immigrant drug dealers or something :p

I rent a room in a clean modern flat in Edinburgh but have the run of the living room and kitchen with all bills inc for £340 a month. No council tax mind as I live in Bucks and that is my registered address.

Presumably the person paying the council tax at your property has passed it onto your rent though. Unless they're all students.

I don't understand why people think you'd only get a crap hole for £340 a month, a crap hole in Manchester would be £200 a month including all bills.

340+ gets you a good place if you look, I spent days finding places.
