Beats by Dre disaster!

I don't know about 'most people' but they are adequate phones at an inflated price for what they do. I think this - apart from the image - is what riles so many people. They're just not worth the money. Now whether that means you should buy other phones is a separate matter. If you want them and they fit your purpose then knock yourself out! Just because there are objectively and subjectively better phones available doesn't mean that you've made a bad decision.

yea lets end it on a hugely biased and prejudged review that goes against what most other independants say

What exactly is "hugely bias and prejudiced" about the basic fact that you can purchase a set of phones without the "image" or "gimmick" (choose which you like) that are equal or better than these for a fraction of the price? It's widely accepted to be the case.

Exactly, This isn't like an Apple vs PC arguement, or an Xbox vs PS3 or even
Bluray vs HDDVD

In all the above comparisons there are good points to both and "tradeoffs"

In this conversation, lets call it "other headphones and £210 or so left over" vs Beats Pro

Theres a clear winner..... I don't see how any one can back up Beats in this?
Its a pair of £50 Sounding headphones that are fairly well built and thats it.
Curiously, I can't think of another situation like this one other than
£100 Monster HDMI cable vs £4 Amazon Basics HDMI Cable
The above do the job just as well, But the one is far far cheaper....

TBH this thread just reeks of buyers remorse....

I'd assume the boxing stance immediately.

Or become the £1 beets man. Have a have a look £1 beets, very very chip, wan pund beets.

I never understood the point of spending more than £30 on headphones anyway, they never last long and £100+ isn't worth "better" audio

It's all completely relative. Some people won't think it's worth spending more than 1k on a car, some people won't think it's worth spending more than £400 on a PC - I personally don't spend much on audio, but I can understand why someone would, as I also have a hobby that I spend a lot of money on. And also, a good quality set of headphones WILL last longer than a cheap set, and will sound so much better as well. I tried my mates Goldring ns 1000 - And they blew all my headphones away.

I've had my HD-25's for 7 years, £100 well spent.

I got mine for my 18th birthday and I'm now 29. They've taken a battering in clubs and at house parties and the only thing thats wrong with them is the covering on the foam has been duct taped back on!

I've had my Beyers for years and they sound great, well worth it. I even wore them snowboarding.

Paid £75 for the HD595 which I found to be deal of the century :p

3~ years on and they still blow my mind when I fire up classic tunes.

Would recommend Beyers too, my DT770 pros have lasted me nearly 5 years now and still sound as good as day 1. One of the best purchases I have made for my PC.

I got some HD25s but when connected to my iPod classic sound worse than my CX300 v1s.

I think they are just more neutral and I have got used to the loud, probably over excessive bass on the CX300s - iPod sound quality isn't exactly the best either and I play a lot of live mixes which arnt the best quality either

Sennheiser HD 25-C II whch is what i have for DJing are pure class, when i see these young boys trying to DJ in DR Dre ones i'm like wtf get a grip, to many wannabes just out to look trendy.

Are the hd 25 II much better that the I? How are they with portable audio players?

I had the hd 25 I and they were not too great

I only use them for DJing and music on the pc, ones before were sony MDRV700 which fell apart fairly fast.

The way the hd 25 II are they give a nice crisp sound, no bells and whistles on so to get near sound as possible to what you are actually playing, which is very important in loud nightclubs.
