Sounds like a troll post, but serious question guys.

I've got 1 eye only and about 10% sight left in that. If I was to lose that, how would I dial a number to get a local hospital or 999 help? I don't have a landline as I preferred to pay just one phone bill and have Virgin for internet, so no line rental needed. Older mobiles had physical dials with the knobbly bit over number 5, so that you know where all the numbers are if blinded. On Androids, you can press "emergency call" located at the bottom of the lock screen. Apart from trial and error, how would I dial?

Or alternatively get an old physical handset and put a PAYG sim in with £5 top-up?

Thanks.

Also, I do like the large fonts that I've seen on a mate's Galaxy SIII. Do you know how I can replicate that on the SII? Running 4.0 on the SII at the moment.

I've been thinking someone should design a system of braille like textured screen protector type things that can be taken off and another easily reapplied by placing the phone in a frame so the user knows where things are, with different patterns on them for different tasks perhaps interacting with voice recognition, just a thought, I hope your needs are met.

Thanks Thep. Good idea about Braille output. It already exists for computers, called 'embossers'. Already know some basic Braille and got a Brailler upstairs in case the worst happens.

Bah, already made for the iPhone

Still worth running with I'm pretty sure a chilled out cool company like Apple wouldn't legally enforce their patent, especially if their small loss is helping the hard of seeing get by, even if they can't afford an iphone, surely:rolleyes:
