Is powerDVD worth £53 and can i install it on two PC systems

I reckon..

Either buy anydvdhd coupled with mpc-be (free)

Or

Buy a ps3, they are great blu ray players, always updated too.

PowerDVD is slow buggy and generally awful.

If you must purchase a legit BluRay player package, go with Arcsoft, it's the least bad option.

I use anydvdhd (lifetime licence) and mpc-hc,

I did this when the AnyDVDHD licence was for 'Life' but I don't think it is now!!

Plus I have the Licence inscalled on both my Win7 and Win8 installs on my PC, I checked with Slysoft and they were okay with this!!, Not sure about 2 seperate PC's though!!

Anyhew, This gets over the BR encryprion problem, and MPC-HC or VLC then play any disk you care to throw at them!! :)

I just made the mistake of buying Standard thinking it would do for Blue rays, popped in Avengers into the blue ray drive click start and get the upgrade to ultra pop up. Totally my mistake but gutted, spent £33 on standard when it would have cost £48 for ultra, now to upgrade it will cost another £38, not gonna happen.

Just to say, I've been using Power DVD (insert appropriate superlative here) 8 since release and it's always worked for me. The only bloaty bit was the moovie thing that I never bothered to install in the first place. I did have problems with it upon moving to Windows 8 but got in contact with support and, after a bit of troubleshooting, they provided me with a free upgrade to 11.

I realise not everyone has had a great experience with the software but mine has been great.

mpc-hc comes with it's own internal codecs for pretty much everything unless you get the lite version.
