Just bought the Seasonic X series 850W psu Good PSU?

As above, i just nabbed this because i've been wanting to upgrade my psu for a long time and use my old one in my gf's system to power her little rig (when i come to finishing it).


Just wondering whats everyones opinions on this psu? Has anyone encountered any problems with it and is there anything i need to watch out for when installing it?

Seasonics are probably the best psu's you can buy :) OCUK have it for £149.99 so i would say you got a good deal.
 
I did consider the xfx however i read somewhere it being abit funny with pcie connectors.
 
Some Corsair and Antec PSU's are made by Seasonic too.

Great brand, I hope it gives you years of joy :)
 
Just read a review and the only thing i dont like about it, is the big fat cables where as im use to corsair's flat cables.

Will have to figure a way to fix this as i have 2 x 1tb hdd's mounted externally outside the case.
 
I wanted one so badly, but at the time, but were out of stock. So I settled for a AX850, for £150, which is basically the same unit as the X-850. The bonus of the AX850, apart from at the time being less expensive, had black sleeved cables. Which looks nice.
 
I just ordered one for my new build too and by the price you mentioned im guessing its from the same place. Couldn't resist £120 for a 850w seasonic, now im scared that mine might blow aswell when I build the system tuesday :(

Edit: Seems like the complaints are mostly about the 1000w

Im hoping we'll get the good ones, been wanting a more powerful silent running psu for awhile now and like you say for £120 its a steal!

Hmm i got flagged here.. I wasn't talking about a competitor though, was just saying i hope its not of a bad batch thats all.

Yea hopefully, all my parts will be here Tuesday so when I put it together then we will find out. Ordered mine this afternoon when ordering my new build. Exactly what I thought for that price it's great, I was getting the 550w and later on upgrade it when I get a second 7950 to crossfire but for that price I had to get it now :p

Haha that was exactly my thoughts and i ordered this afternoon aswel! I thought why not now than later cos i doubt i'll get one for this price again for a long time to come.
