7950 what voltages, clocks and model of you card you got?

No you wont.
7 series cards are not bandwith limited at all even with 1200+ cores, there is a small benifit in faster memory speeds though but its not beneficial compared to core increase.
and you must be doing something as his iceQ 7950s are not voltage locked
the creator of MSI AB is just not willing to add support for our cards to AB cause there none ref cards, but if you flash a ref bios you will be able to add your card to AB support,....
So I guess HIS iTurbo overclocking tool has support for the voltage? How come you don't use that instead?

Yes it has support ;) cause the voltage is not locked lol
i use MSI AB cause its better and it also has fan profiling aswell as my G19 LCD compatibility :D so i can display my graphics + cpu info from the little screen on my KEYBOARD :)

Thats why.. ;)

So... let me get my head around this. The original bios that comes with the 7950 IceQ's is voltage locked, the only way you can adjust the voltage is by using 'Constant Voltage' in MSI Afterburner, thus breaking powerplay settings.

You got around this by using one of the Gigabyte 7950 WF3 bios, which then enabled the voltage slider to set any voltage you want, and still keep powerplay settings.

Is that right? I'm just trying to suss out these cards, as I might get one myself. The amount of people who have these cards, and the amount of info available is kinda vague.

It's not voltage locked, it's just that AB doesn't support voltage changes with it unless you force constant voltage which breaks powerplay. You can use ITurbo, but then you lose all the other handy monitoring metrics that AB provides, so apparently you can flash the card with a gigabyte BIOS (which I have been provided by another kind member and am happy to pass on, although I haven't taken the plunge yet myself).

The cooling solution is excellent though, so I can highly recommend the HIS card if you want something cool and quiet.

does it have g19 lcd compatibility ?
and i bet you it does not have everything that msi has.

No idea.

To me Asus GPU tweak just looks like a skinned afterburner but there might be some settings that are different. I was more referring to the displays and readouts for temp, voltage etc.

framerate and frametime monitoring? Video/screenshot capturing? If it works with the HIS card without breaking powerplay I may give that a go.

I'd be interested to know that too!

iTurbo actually has custom fan profiling too, but no monitoring really. I don't use iTurbo as it causes issues with the screens not sleeping correctly (powered on but black screen) and the only way to get back to windows is to reboot

The thing that annoys me is that HIS iTurbo doesnt down clock the voltage from 1.172 to 0.802...
That`s why I use MSI AB for everyday use.

Got my 7950 vapor-x today, its running at 1150/1400 on 1.2/1.575v, +20% power limit and 66% asic quality.

how are people getting above 1200core/1575mem? AB only lets me go up to these.

I have a Saphire 7950 (dual -x) running stock volts at 1100 / 1450. It runs at 78-79 degrees running BF3 though. It is totally stable though so I am not worried. Not overclocked it runs at 69 degrees, so I think the cooler is struggling.

Mine is still doing this, despite not using it anymore. I can't remember if I uninstalled it, but I'm certainly not using it. I've just disabled screen sleep for now, but it isn't ideal.

I did loads to try and sort it. But thought it was only when running. Try uninstalling iTurbo, then remove all your drivers and re-add.

Bit of a pain I know, but fixed mine, sleep works fine now.

i have a windforce x3 7950, and have been looking at afterburner, and other people on here have there clock speeds at 1150, but my slider will only go up to 1100. I havent tryed clocking it yet, but checking out the settings.

anyone know why mine doesnt go as high?

right click on your link for msi afterburner go to properties at the end of the address (target) for the link add /xcl apply then click on the link to start ab it will come up with a meesage regarding extending the limits and to restart your comp before u restart remove the /xcl from the link then reboot and voila!u can go higher with your clocks.
