lower benefits for Northerners and longer school days

They are running that low on groups of people to discriminate against that they are now starting on Northerners.

Yes costs vary region by region, but these also fluctuate. Altering benefits by region would take so many civil servants to run the scheme it would save nothing and probably cost more.

As for extending school hours by three hours. The teaching unions would never let that one fly, but it is a stupid idea anyway. Kids need to spend time with family not in school so mum and dad can slave away for their taskmasters.

Entrepreneurial spirit my backside. Clueless coalition.

Northerners get more investments because they are so hard done by, yet they have cheaper housing, cheaper food, cheaper fuel, cheaper utilities - the cost of living is far less. (YES, utilities are cheaper up north, even national companies have regional prices for gas and elec).

You earn less money so pay less in tax - so to those who think if benefits are cut then so should tax.....er no!

It costs less to live so by rights you should get les in benefits, or get of your backsides and go and earn a wage, which coincidentally will go further as its cheaper up north!

Its a great idea and should be implimented immediately, as someone who lives in the South and has had the misfortune of living in the north for a few years in the past you lot dont know how easy you have it, everything is cheaper up there so quit whining.

On the face of it it says differently to what I'm saying but change your perspective a bit and look at the people who are involved with it and it becomes a little more cynical as to the end game.

It is cheaper to live up north
It is cheaper to buy food up north
It is cheaper to buy fuel up north
It is cheaper to purchase utilites, gas water and electric up north.

Ergo an entirely factually correct post. You northerners just dont like facts that you have it easy yet still make a hash of it.

I work all over the country and let me tell you FOOD AND PETROL/DERV are NOT cheaper up north.
