Just how safe is london to visit ?
My shortlist for a first-time visit for your child:
Aquarium
Hamleys Toy Store
London Eye
Science Museum
That's probably all that you're going to fit in with a single day!
I've been stabbed at least twice a day for the last 30 years. You learn to just accept it, and embrace it. Now instead of greeting people with "Hello" I just stab them.
Hi all, during the summer holidays i want to take my 6 year old daughter to London for the day.
I lived in London about 14 years ago and it was ok but not somewhere i would want to live again.
The thread title is perhaps a bit ott but i want a good day in London but not sure where to take her.
I have 2 things im defiantly going to do and that is the London eye and a museum (not sure what one yet).
Ill be using your replys as a guide to a day out,be it travel guides and places to go,we will be leaving ipswich about 8-8.30 am.
What would be the first thing to do once we get to london ?
Would like honest and open answers please and none of gd humour![]()

London is one of the safest major cities in the world. Take the normal precausions with your kids and you will be fine.
As long as you're aware it's full of hustle and bustle then you'll be fine - lots of people take their kids into town with no issues.been to london central a few times when i lived there,i lived on the outskirts (hounslow)
What does your kid like to do? If you're going to London though you have to visit Hamleys! Are you after education or just a bit of fun? I personally love the Natural History Museum and the Science museum.
she loves castles and educational stuff so that sounds like the museum we will go to
This place is extremely safe!!!
My suggestion is to go to the Aquarium, then go for lunch somewhere, then go to the Natural History Museum or the Zoo. Then a trip to Hamleys and back on the train. You could buy her an ice cream from Gelupo before you go to Hamleys as they aren't all that far apart.
There's only so much a little'un can do in a day without getting too tired.
1. Aquarium
2. Hamleys
3. Cable Car/London Eye
4. Natural History Museum
5. been to a zoo (colchester) quite a few times so we will give that a miss thanks
If you can get four of those in in one day then you'll be doing extremely well and will probably be rushing a bit.
1. Aquarium
2. Hamleys
3. Cable Car/London Eye
4. Natural History Museum
These 4 have been mentioned a few times so i think ill stick to these as they seem to be right up my daughters street![]()
