Hello, i am getting a horrible windy/buzzing soun when i plug my headset into my pc's usb ports. When i plug the headset into my laptops usb it is fine like normal... Quiet etc..

So at the moment, i have plugged my headset from my laptop then added the aux and mic cable to my pc.

That works fine no problem, i can hear sound clearly. So it has something to do with my USB ports. What could be the problem?

ALSO, i am getting the buzzing noise even louder when i scroll with my mouse or move it around etc...

I have updated to all the latest drivers for my sound card too etc...

I have a i3 3.4ghz, micro ATX gigabyte motherboard, 550W cooler master power supply, Radeon Saphire HD 7770 OC graphics card.

Any help would be amazing.

What kind of headset? Also, is this using on-board sound?
it might be picking up electric noise.

A common problem with Roccat Kaves, when using the usb port and on-board, you get this whine, as you say, especially when you move your mouse.

I ended up getting a sound card, it's stopped my noise problem.

is it usb powered? not sure on how those work does it have a seperate headphone jack with it also?

try the rear usb ports or green headphone socket, the front leak emi and it gets picked up through the headphone socket and this is what your hearing

Yeah it is usb powered, and i have tried it. Many of times. (the rear usb)

And yeah it has headphone jacks with the headset... green, pink, black and orange.

USB for power, with a few analog jack plugs. These types can pick up emi quite badly. He has the same issue i had, which was fixed with a sound card. Nasty EMI.

What is wrong with the emi and how do i solve this. Guessing just buying one of those sound cards. Which i have just done.

Try using a phone charger as your USB power connector. I have heard of other people doing this. I believe USB is rated at 5V 500mA while most phone chargers are also 5V and between 400mA-800mA.

I am a little confused here mate. All i have is my iphone charger. What do you mean?

Sorry, i'll explain a bit more clearly. You said that it worked fine on your laptop with no static. This means that the USB ports on your laptop are supplying 'clean' energy (static is often caused by an 'unclean' or fluctuating source) and your laptops sound card is outputting a clean signal. One possible reason why you are hearing static from your PC is if your PC's USB ports are outputting unclean energy which can be heard as static. Another possible reason was highlighted by the guys above - it could be the sound card in your PC which is at fault. If you plug the USB connection from your headset into the USB port on your iphone charger, which should give a reasonable 'clean' output then you can determine the problem. If the static goes away then there is something going on with your PC's USB ports or your power supply and if the static is still there then your onboard audio is probably the problem. You could alternatively plug it into a USB port on your laptop and plug the 3.5mm cable into your PC to determine the problem.
