Ive been using one on a 2 week trial from nokia connect (google it) they send you a free lumia 920 for 2 weeks and a returns label to organise a pickup at the end of it, phone is unlocked, popped my 3 sim straight in and using it now :) real refreshing coming from an iPhone 4, so fluid and quick.

Not all that impressed with the camera so far but need to give it more or a real world test as opposed to random objects round the house.

I used GoogleMaps when I was on Windows 7.5 (Lumia 800), that was back in around Feb 2012 when I first got it and I used it again something in the late summer during a trip for quick navigation in browser.

What Google have done is made excuses for a decision they've made with bias cause, because by their first excuse, Opera and Firefox won't work (not Webkit, and IE10 on Windows OS, not Phone too). By their second excuse after the uproar from their first silly excuse, makes no sense - they're redirecting it because it doesn't perform as it should but we'll now undo that because actually, you guys are alright, but not as good as Firefox though. So here you go, subtle stab.

Immature is the best word I can come up for a software company that tries to promote openness - unless you're a competition.

They never said it wouldn't work, they said it was optimised for webkit, Opera, Dolphin, Firefox on Android all have the same web based touch features that webkit offers, is it Googles fault that Microsoft using Trident, didn't actually add them resulting in touch not working for the maps, no it isn't. Microsoft being behind the times is. WP7+8 are lacking loads of basic features.

It seems to me you are not aware how different mobile functionality is from the desktop.

The "Portico" update addresses these issues and for me the images are a a lot sharper and contain a lot more detail.

Vodafone, been with them for years so I can't switch without paying nearly twice as much for the same minutes etc. I could always upgrade to something else, sell it and buy a handset outright, but its a lot of faff for something im not absolutely desperate to have.

Well thats good news as from what we know at the moment Voda are looking to deffo getting it pretty soon.

anyone played QONQR? It's a gps based mmo for wp 7/8, quite nicely done and fun to battle over your local areas as it uses real maps and places as control points.

Just realised I am fighting against you!

Grimson here, just updated my avatar ;)

I am still learning the game, always overheated and have to wait an age to do anything!

Just sent in an application to see if i can snag one for 2 weeks. :)

Has anyone else experienced something strange with smart shoot. When i save one of the smart shoot images the saved image is upside down. The first time it did this i deleted the smart shoot app and reinstalled it and it was fine. I guess I'll be doing the same again but i wondered if anyone else had the same problem and solved it.

Up to level 42 here. Quite a bit of activity where I am :)

I uninstalled it. It was getting boring and futile. I would capture a dozen bases, leave the game for a couple of hours, come back and they'll all be in someone else's control, usually the guy I took them off ;) I'd take them back and the cycle would continue ad tedium. :o

I could see no point in playing. No endgame. So I thought, why bother? I can't be doing with it.

tbh - I am at that point now. Plus it is a total battery killer.

I don't understand why audible is popular... it seems so damned expensive to me! I really want to try it but every time I load it up I baulk at the prices and switch it off again.

HaHa, small world, a good battle going on but also like you you can only really attack a base every so often due to the cool down and waiting for it to fill is beyond boring.

I actually had an agreement with the other green chap based in the south/west that we would only attack red, then you turned up and me and my fellow purple ripped the agreement up. Red hasn't been back in a while so it's just us two teams.

Did you like my North Walsham and coast deployment on Tuesday! still you got it all back pretty much.
