hey guys!

More or less as the title is giving away I want to attempt to build my own custom watercooled system. I already have the system in a HAF932 case cooled by air but I want a quieter system more than anything.

The components I have looked at are:

1 x ocUK Tech Lab V12 Watercooling Kit 360 [OCUKV12-1][WC-042-OE]
1 x XSPC Razor 7970 GPU Waterblock (Raystorm Style) [WC-189-XS]
2 x OcUK 1/2" Barbed Fitting G1/4 - FatBoy Style - Black Nickel Finish [WC-298-OK]
1 x Mayhems Fine Silver Kill Coil [WC-022-MH]
1 x XSPC HighFlex Hose 7/16" ID, 5/8" OD 2m UV Red [WC-136-XS]
8 x Koolance Hose Clamp for OD 16mm (5/8in) [WC-097-KA] (just to be safe)

Total: £354.46

1 x Foam Silencing Kit - Cooler Master HAF 932 [CA-128-OP]

£24.98

The only thing I'm a little concerned about at this moment in time is the GPU waterblock since I have a Powercolor 7970 Vortex II edition graphics card and not sure if the waterblock will fit it (possibly a non-reference design board?)

At this moment in time I just want to cool my CPU (i7 2700k) and get a full cover GPU waterblock (7970). Eventually I may want to cool my chipset and/or ram using the loop too! I have a Gigabyte Z77X-UD5H motherboard.

Feel free to throw advice and suggestions my way, first time doing watercooling!

Cheers for the help! :D

the PCS+ Vortex 2 is a custom PCB, no full cover waterblocks I'm affraid :(

You can either faf about with a universal core only block and passive heatsinks or ditch the GPU for something that can take a waterblock :)

Yeah I thought that might be the case, I got an email from XSPC about 10 mins ago to say that same thing. I like the graphics card and replacing it with another 7970 will be a loss of money to say the least (if I sold my Vortex II 7970 I wouldn't make anywhere near what I paid for it)..that on top of the cost of a watercooling setup we're looking at splashing out £500-ish (taking into consideration I would prob get around £250 for the one I have)

Choices, choices! lol

Yeah thats a thought but can't see anyone giving up an LCS 7970 since it's pretty much top of the range at the moment :P. I'll email Powercolor to see if their board follows the reference design...last option! :D
