Fallout 4 thread

I loved fallout 3 (200+ hrs on the xbox) and I've still to play through new vegas (but now already modded on the pc) so I guess I will wait and see what it's like well after release and play that through first time with mods as well. I love being behind the times (sometimes).
 
Fallout 3 was amazing, can't wait for 4 if it is more of the same but without the bugs :)
 
I loved the original fallout games but found 3 and new vegas jus dragged on too long and became samey ttowards the end. I always give up at around the 50-60 hour mark due to boredom.
 
The only thing i wish for in Fallout 4 is a new/improved engine. Something a lot less buggy and a lot more pretty looking.

3 had a better storyline for the first half, then went crap (or at least generic). NV had an overall weaker, but I felt more consistent storyline (and the player choices actually changed the final outcome to a degree).

NV also had a better (IMO) actual gameplay and much better DLC.

Both were excellent though, and both have elements worthy of being taken through to the next game.
 
Stop me if I'm wrong, but except for the inclusion of a few mods that were on FO3, wasn't NVs gameplay pretty much identical?

Pretty much, but the quests were far more intricate and better written(and there were many more as well), and the faction system was a nice addition which spiced things up a bit.

Looking at both of them together, I think FO3 is a shell compared to NV...but then that is unfair, as FO3 came first and NV really just built on it
 
Can't wait for The Elder Scrolls 5.5: Guns and Mutants edition! Really loved The Elder Scrolls 4.5: Hip-Fire and Invisible Barrier edition. Much preferd 4.5 to 4.75: Sand and Iron-Sights edition.

All seriousness though, 3 was a lot of fun, NV was good but meh, doesn't carry the kind of lasting memory Fallout 3 did, I trust Bethesda will be making 4!

Fallout 3 is one of my best ever games, was disappointed with NV, IIRC NV was also still on DX9 :eek:

IF they bring out another game along the lines of fallout 3 but with more up to date graphics I'll be happy.

Loads of recent games still use DX9. The DX version doesn't dictate how good the graphics are, so a game can look good and still be DX9.
 
it's certainly an improvement, no doubt, but it is still the gamebryo engine, despite their claims of it being a completely new engine.
