Can somebody explain this ludicrous decision to depict an armed police officer attending the scene of a live armed robbery with a baseball bat?

The guy in blue (criminal) was shown firing a shotgun, which he has conveniently thrown at Ben Drew in the background holding a baseball bat. The whole thing is farcical.

I'm supposing this was done because they don't want any negative gun connotations with Ben Drew being a rapper, perpetuating the whole gun violence image.

I thought it was more to do with the fact that attacking a gang with firearms would require lots of the dreaded paperwork, whereas "what baseball bat guv?" is a lot easier to deal with.

lol with paperwork jibe

Still true !

Film was total pants though, old geezer/pensioner getting it on with a nice young girl... surely that aint real life enuff lol

This is one of the worst films I have seen recently

Utter Garbage from start to finish

Bad script...Nonsense BS of a movie and god how I hate plan z

EDIT: Comedy gold as plan B runs like a girl :p

I think the problems with this film are far greater than a guy running at armed henchmen with a baseball bat...

Dreadful film from start to finish, there's so much wrong with it that it would be hard to know where to start when reviewing it. The script was appalling, the Winstone & Atwell relationship was cheesy, unbelievable and gross, the climactic scene was dreadful (I can only imagine they spunked most of the budget on the Trafalgar Square gun fight so had to film in a caravan park lol), and there was no attempt at realism, both when depicting the flying squad and the weapons.

Also lolworthy that Plan-B could go on a vigilante mission and then shortly after be reinstated as a police officer.
