I don't know for sure mind, and given it's the DVLA who have a history of taking people's licenses off them for absolutely no reason it might not be correct!ThanksAlways nice to know.
This is why you use Velcro for your illegally spaced plates so if you do get a producer you just swap them back again after.
Put the legal plates on to get the car through it's MOT.But isn't a legal plate a requirement on your MOT?
Had a look at that site.....hairdresser? AB10W JB![]()
IE overpaid footballers?![]()
I know someone who would like that plate![]()
No need for the overpaid bit TBH![]()
They won't revoke a plate for illegal spacing, you'll be told to replace it with a correctly formatted one and given a producer I think to take it to the local police station within 7days to show you've done it.
Well as far as I'm aware you don't ever own the plate, just the right to use it. I would be amazed if they took the registration off you after a first offence and would instead give you the oppurtunity to correct it.
What you're talking about is a VDRS (Vehicle Defect Rectification Scheme), which isn't really the best course of action.
On the first offence we can take photos and send it to the DVLA. They will send you a letter asking you to change it to be legal and send proof of this. On the second report to the DVLA they can revoke the plate and give you another generic one instead with no compensation whatsoever.
