Subaru Impreza Sti Milage

Hey guys,

Im going to be upgrading my car in the coming months, and have narrowed it down to a Sti Impreza.

What I want to know is how good a car is it quality wise as most have higher milage?, and obviously will be looking for low as possible milage along with FSH!

My mate got a 2002 bug eye wrx on ~60k miles for £4k. Seems fine mechanically, they are pretty tough beasts.

Main thing I'd have an eye on with a high milage one is the turbo or associated bits. Otherwise as I say I think they are pretty tough.

Wife's dad s reg impreza he had since new has done over 265,000 miles
Only problem with it is the rot has sent in.

Buy on condition, don't just focus on finding the lowest mileage. The best condition cars I've owned have been the highest mileage!

I'd be looking out for a recent clutch on one of these at higher mileage

Is that N/A or turbo though? Generally turbo versions last about 120-140k miles, then blow up something expensive - usually the turbo, but occasionally the engine. Most then get scrapped because the owner doesn't want to pay the expense of fixing it. If that's a turbo, then that mileage is VERY unusual. I wouldn't touch a turbo with over 80k miles myself and I'd not pay more than £3k for one that high. Unless it has a new engine and turbo anyway.
