I use to play BF3 on a 24" Monitor and would say I was above Average at BF3 but now I have been playing on my Samsung 46" LCD and find it really really hard to get a good score , I am not getting any ghosting or problems with an average 60FPS on both monitors at max settings are 1920 x 1080p

Anyone else moved to a bigger screen and had problems ?

What could be the problem ? I have not changed my sitting distance so it safe to say its massive , do you think If I move back this might sort the problem ?

Or should I just move back and stick to 24" ?

Move the screen back. I've found (and observed others playing) that you miss a lot of peripheral action if you are too close

yeah, move back dude.
I play fps games on my 47" panny now. But i sit a good 7-8ft from the tv and it's great.
Sitting too close means you end up scanning the whole screen with your eyes (and/or head) actually moving from left to right so to speak. Much better to see everything peripherally as brennen alluded to, from a distance.

I had a problem moving to BF3 my screen is 2560 x 1600 which was fine in BFBC2, but for some reason in BF3 with the card I had the player height was 1 inch smaller than my friend who had the same monitor, but a different GPU. This was done by physically measuring the height of a character a specific distance from each other on 2 different set-ups.

Might be worth checking against your older 24".

I went from a 40inch TV to a 27inch 144hz monitor, and I went from being average to being a fair bit better than average. I put it down to the input lag. I learnt to play around the lag I guess, flanking and attacking where the enemy wasn't expecting me as face to face close quarters usually meant the other person winning. My accuracy has gone up since switching screen, but I think my headshot ratio has dropped a little. I don't mind having my graphical detail turned down a little now also, prefer the higher framerate and don't notice the graphics as much with smaller screen and the fact I'm more interested in shooting other players than how good the shadows look.

:)...Thanks...:)

Now I know not to blame myself because I got lapped 3 times in one race while playing a racing game on my 50" screen

Now that I know it was only my 50" screen that made my driving usless am well pleased.. :p

Good decision :)

For fps like cs source, bf3 etc, I have found that with 24" monitor, everything happening on the screen is in my field of vision and I am more responsive to action. Hence my accuracy is better and I am more in control of the game.

With 40" tv, my accuracy decreases rapidly as I have to move my head around a lot more and this in turn makes me lose my concentration and I am not as responsive to the action

I agree with you on this.

I started of with 24" and was great at FPS games but I guess I kinda fell in love with the Big screen idea but it just doesnt work for Fps games for me ,

I am now thinking about getting a 24" again or 27" what do you think ?

I really like the Samsung S27B970D 27 do you think this would be a good choice for gaming & Photoshop ?
