Antec P183 Fan Failed - Warranty Replacement?

I purchased an Antec P183 from OcUK in Jan 2011 and lately my system has been crashing quite often. I don't know if this is the final cause of the issue, but I noticed that the top fan wasn't running. When I investigated further, I noticed that the fan had completely fallen apart. Is this something that Antec will replace under warranty? I haven't damaged the case or the fan in anyway but the fan blades have completely fallen off of their own accord.

I've never heard of a PC case fan falling apart in the way you describe, but those Tricools are only £6 or so with free delivery if you shop around (can't say where for the usual reasons), and although Antec are usually pretty good with warranty replacements it hardly seems worth the extra hassle.

Having said that, the P183 should also have a rear exhaust fan, and switched to maximum speed the Tricools are capable of shifting a fair amount of air, although obviously you'll pay for it in terms of noise levels. Unless your system is running unusually hot components and/or is massively overclocked, I doubt if failure of the top fan alone is the cause of its unreliability, although it won't have helped I suppose... do you have any reason (other than the crashing) to suppose it's overheating?

I've noticed that my PC had been making a whirring noise for some time and after investigation found it to be the fan, however, didn't think anything of it. However, it's clear that it was probably the bearing or something failing and it's fallen apart. I'll post some pics once I've got it out.

I've removed the rear exhaust fan because I've got the Corsair H70 installed, but I assume this is doing the same job. The reason I've noticed the crashes is because I've been playing Sleeping Dogs on my Windows 8 setup and the GPU has been reaching temps of 104°C before the whole system would just go in to a black screen with a hard reboot being the only resolution. With the case open, the GPU has only gone up to a maximum of 90°C and more significantly, the system hasn't crashed. All the parts are running stock, (Specs are in sig) nothing is overclocked and the PC is in my living room which is slightly above room temperature with the heating on. (PC isn't close to the heater)

104 is very high! I have the p183 case. Have you got any front fans for intake? The case is very tight and doesn't provide loads of air flow. Take the door off and see what temps you get. I find sleeping dogs is full of bugs anyway and crashes all the time

I have the built in front intake fan set at medium. I haven't tried with the door off, but with the side off, the max I've seen the GPU hit is 90°C. Currently got the PC on idle (just running Firefox and typing this message) with the door shut, side panel closed and top fan not working as it's faulty, this is the current state of affairs on GPU-Z

Fluctuating between 45° and 48°.

I had a dodgy 3 speed fan in a p180 years ago. I emailed Antec and they just posted me a new one, no questions asked. Didn't even ask for the old one back :P

I say just email them and ask.

I have fowarded this thread to my Antec rep to look into for you.

He can advise if the case would be covered under their warranty.
