Hey all.

I have had my wingmirrors apart on the MX5 as the bolt had rusted badly and has sheared off. I have a new bolt set off ebay all ready to reassemble the mirror.

As the mirror is off, I though that I may as well give it respray as it needs a bit of TLC. My cousin will guide me and did his own car (not an MX5) a few years ago and the results were good.
I have the paint code it is 3L.

Where is the best place to buy colour matched paint from?

test it first. if its only wing mirrors you can always do them again.

if you prep them and have them primed ready for paint a body shop would do them quite cheaply

Don't discount just getting them done by a bodyshop as if you do them yourself you'll need a good bit of various grades of wet and dry, plastic primer, paint and (assumably) lacquer. It also takes quite a bit of time to get a good finish

I've done mirrors before and more recently a grille, they worked out quite well but it cost about 15 quid less a side than it would have for me just to hand them in to a bodyshop and get them done. I do now have speaker stands with nighthawk black poles though after using some leftover paint

Had colours mixed by Halfrauds a few times. They've never got it right once, after 3 remixes the last time, I gave up. Useless at best.
