The best 42inch tv for 500-600£

I'm looking at a few myself, but my budget is a bit higher than yours. In my research for a new TV, I did see an LG 42LM620T LED TV that would fit your budget. I don't have any experience with it myself, but it seems to be one of the cheaper 42" TVs that I have seen.

There are also Plasmas by both LG, Samsung and Panasonic to consider as well, which fall into your budget. Again, I have no experience with the current models, but I know the Panasonic's are good.

It really all depends on what you want from the TV. Does it need to be 3D, Smart TV, etc?

after recently buying my first plasma, I can honestly say, I won't be changing back LED/LCD.

the only drawback is supposedly the issue in bright rooms, but all I can say is it is fine as long as the sun is not directly on the TV.

Well I would like 3D and smart tv but its not a must, I think with 500-600 at 42 your always gonna get 3d and smart nowadays.

LG 42lm640t can be had for £599, which is a pretty good all rounder tbh, was playing with PQ settings today and got it looking very nice.

Lol I just posted that, it's my top choice I've got couple weeks until payday tho I would like some other people's inputs.

What about the Panasonic Viera TX-L42ET5B? One of Overclockers competitors is selling for £60 over your budget but it does come with 4 pairs of glasses.

You can get the 50" Panasonic UT50 plasma from john Lewis or Tesco within your budget. Needs a room which isn't very bright but it is a fair way ahead of all the LCD/LED tv's I looked at for the same money. If you can find the 42" version, it should be under £500. The ST50 is the model above which adds an anti reflective coating to the screen, but is otherwise identical.
