"The cosmic ancestry of humans becomes ever more securely established.”

What? Because you found a microbe in a space rock we are 'securely establishing' our place of origin in the universe?

Read the paper. Link. The pictures are fairly convincing - it does look like biological structures are embedded in a piece of rock. Probably an elaborate hoax but interesting regardless.

They look for alien life in between cutting people's heads off.

I think you are confusing Sri Lanka with Saudia Arabia, where I'm not sure they look for alien life, just cut people's heads off.

And cometary panspermia seems as logical an explanation as any for how life originated on the Earth.

Look up Panspermia which seems to be one of the most logical ways we got here.

Panspermia is one possible way that we came to be here - I think the objection is that to take this as securely establishing it as the method is somewhat premature. It's another bit of evidence perhaps (assuming it's real and all that) but equally it's possible that life started independently in a number of places e.g. some on meteorites and some on Earth.

I don't know much about this finding but to leap from "we've found something" to "this is it boys, this is how life started" seems to miss out the "let's do a bit of investigating stage and verifying our findings thoroughly"...

Red rain fell in the area it landed, WTF? Buy an umbrella people, the zombiepocalypse is coming from the skies!

I remember videos of that red rain. Weird but sand

Lol at all the people going on as though we never cut people's head off here before

It can't answer 'how' life started even if you assume Earth life developed from it - it still gives no more information on (alien) abiogenesis.
