Just wondering what people think will happen to the walking dead over the next few years, as in how many series?

One thing I’d like to see down the line is Carl (Rick’s son) when he’s much older, with prehaps his sister (not in that way).

Well I read this morning that a new guy is taking over as show runner for serie four so there may be a change in direction.

smaller sets, lower budget, more of the usualy plots... something odd happens.. everyone argues about varios unimportant personal issues... odd thing is explained buy nothing much.. the end...

AMCs most successful show.

Like any American Action Drama series, they will just keep it going for as long as they can I would imagine. If the viewing figures start dropping off, then it will eventually reach the stage where it will be canned. Given that the third series broke viewing records, I doubt its going anywhere anytime soon.

Should I give this a go again?

I loved the first few episodes, but by the end of season 1 I was really bored.

Is 2/3 better?

I can see there being at least two more seasona. Season 3 has been the best by FAR!

Season 2 started of well (the first 2 episodes were good enough) but it did just become a "soap" TV show, I personally didn't mind it but a lot of others hated it (and from what you said there, you might not like it either :p). Episode 6-13 were much better. You would need to at least watch those episodes above.

Season 3 is in a different league to both seasons IMO, extremely good and has the perfect pace, much darker and more gritty too.

It won't deviate massively from the comic in direction. We already know the current 'problem' being faced in the comics will come into the TV show in later seasons.

They've had a different showrunner for each season now. yet direction has relatively played out like the comics, more so since Darabont left.

Kirkman (Creator & Writer of the comic) is still captain of the ship and will no doubt decide on key factors of change.

The best part of the TWD as a tv show is, that basically they don't have to worry about the overall direction, that's mapped out with 106 issues (So far, and appears not to be letting up in the slightest) of intense story, you're not even half way through the comic story in terms of the tv show. All that remains is the flesh out of the details in-between, which they've handled quite well up til this point with additions like Daryl and slight changes to events that make them different, but with a similar outcome.

Scott Gimple has been selected to replace Glen Mazzara as The Walking Dead Showrunner.

Who knows what this means for season 4.

I hated season 2, but 3 was awesome

This, season 2 was so bad i wouldn't have cared if they cancelled it outright. But season 3 is a true back to form, almost better then season 1 in parts

The bad thing is that you really can't skip season 2 otherwise you wonder what the hell is going on!
