Please be aware that this is very graphic.

Brilliant documentary highlighting the complete failure by the news corporations around the world at reporting the real news and being in bed with government propaganda agents.

Its amazing upon watching this that people still so easily accept the information they are handed to them with such ease.

So whats your take on this?

I don't need convinced of BBC bull **** and that of the mainstream media when it comes to influence and moral failure.

How true Bio. The current stance the BBC is taking spouting the unionist propaganda surrounding the Scottish independence debate leads me to believe they have no morals and will simply regurgitate any and all lies from Westminster.

The OP video has been removed, which is a shame as going on the subsequent recommending posts I was just going to watch this, after initially being skeptical it was going to be just another CT rant.

Another aspect of war we don't get informed about, cowboys doing what they want

Disturbing

Also a HBO documentary called "Wartorn 1861-2010" you can find on youtube

Blackwater?

Its not surprising, that company has practically subsidised a lot of action for the US military and they don't end up in any news/KOA reel.

PMCs are unfortunately just going to be more prominent, perhaps not Metal gear prominent, but it hit a nail where had to be.

Thinking about the OP's question more I think a big part of the problem is schooling not really focussing on critical thinking- maybe this has changed in recent years but even at A-Level we didn't have to work that critically to get a pretty good grade. I graduated Uni with a 2:1 in a social science in 2003 (maybe things have changed?) and can see now that my best work was still almost uncritical.

Once out of school / college / uni most aspects of most of our lives follow patterns of towing the line, keeping your head down and getting by, occasionally grumbling and not doing anything more than grumbling. Bit of a generalisation but pretty accurate for most people and I'd include myself in that 100% up until the last few years, and still accurate at work most of the time. To stick your head up and put the hard questions to the powerful can be dangerous. Outside of the politics of it my view is that there is a lot to be said for unions and co-operatives. For example, where was the journalists union in the middle of all this?? My guess is that if nearly all journalists were united outside of their employers in some form of strong professional association a lot of this would not have happened in the same way. I know almost nothing about journalism mind so maybe there is a strong union / association and somehow it is ineffectual (?)
