*** Show us your Dogs ***

Well this morning we had the very unpleasant experience of putting this little fella to sleep. :(

George just eight years of age has had all sorts of problems over the years due to having GME (Granulomatous meningoencephalomyelitis), including temporarily losing the ability to walk, see, and other related complications such as kidney failure. Each time we have managed to patch the little bugger up and fix things. Now after numerous operations, staggering vet bills, and huge amounts of care his latest issue could not be beaten.

After managing to deeply scratch both eyes a few weeks back he had been undergoing treatment where both eyes had been improving but then infection occurred in one eye where despite our efforts it was provisionally scheduled that today the eye would be removed.

We woke him up this morning only to discover the other eye had complications resulting in him losing the ability to see again. Discussion with the vet confirmed it would be highly unlikely anything could be done for the eyes and that coupled with his other issues would not allowed him the quality of life he deserved.

George you were a lovely little dog and you will be missed.

I'm very sorry to hear about George, I don't know if it's the quality of your photos but he came across as a little fella with oodles of character.

Am I wrong, or do I remember a very cool photo of him wearing sun glasses? :)

Haha you have a very good memory, that photo was seven years old when he was just one. Found it on my web share:-

And yep the little bugger did have oodles of character even if he was a flippin liability!:p

^^ Two brillaint pics and loving the jacket :D

Don't think I've ever put a photo of my two in here. So I may as well as post a couple of our eldest, Josie, who had to be put to sleep at 5pm today due to old age. 16 ain't a bad run.

I'll miss you, you pain in the arse :(

Sorry for your loss.

2nd pic couldn't help me but think about my mate..

Our 2 1/2 year old Cocker Spaniel "Diesel"

And 10 week old Chihuahua x Jack Russell "Jackson"

He really is pint sized but in a toy fight can put the cocker in her place!

Kahn even though you're my real life mate, the way you reacted to that guys boxer picture and comment was so ridiculous. You need to lighten up and stop being defensive on here lol. (I just noticed the arguments now).

When someone slaps a big smiley on a post with a pic of a puppy ya kinda need to avoid mounting your high horse lol

Some more of Smudge, who's now 15 weeks old.
It's incredible how fast these fellas grow -

There's a myth that Chocolate Labs are a bit dim but I can confirm that's not true. They may not be in the elite intelligence league of their paler brothers but they're far from stupid. Ours is the fastest learning dog I've known but handily he still has the daft moments we love in dogs.

This is a pic of him with the right hump thinking he was caged in the garden -

Loving the last few posts.

Do people mind uploading videos of their dogs? PLEASE? :D

It'll make life a bit nicer for those of us who can't currently look after a four-legged friend :)
