Helicopter down in Vauxhall

i wonder when we'll start seeing the CCTV footage of the roadside appearing on the internet \:

Hmm, I was on the 07:52 from Waterloo to Addlestone this morning. Was blissfully unaware of the excitement till I got to work (Brentford). could have been an absolute disaster.

Watching BBC news and it would appear that the 'breaking news' is still the helicopter crash and there seems to be nothing else happening in the world today.

Tragic accident. Does it really require such coverage?

What a helicopter going down during rush hour and bursting into flames causing fatalities and injuries in the capital?

Should just be on the news this evening!

BUT now there's hostages in Algeria!

Must be a terrorist attack, linked to algerian hostage taking funded by the Iranian government. :p

The only logical solution is to murder all helicopter pilots and crane operators, to prevent further attacks.

Response times in London can be surprisingly fast, probably because they can use bus lanes and existence of yellow boxes to stop people stopping at certain places.

When I was knocked off my bicycle, response time was also very quick.

A single fatality so far.

I don't understand the need for all the speculation, report the inccident as 'breaking news' when it happened. There are other things happening in the world, by all means have it as a headline but don't just report speculation.

Two. I've stopped paying attention to the news as they seem incapable of reporting anything else so far today.

Pointless speculation.

Will be interesting to see how this lights on the crane thing plays out.

BBC was just reporting about how a lack of lights on the crane was reported to and discussed by the Officer managing the MPS Helicopter Twitter feed three months ago, who said such companies would be fined for lack of lights.

But strangely you're getting your updates from this thread and replying.
If you don't want to know about it why click on the thread?

I would like to know what else is going on in the world, but thanks to the BBC and the 'breaking news' there is nothing else happening in the world today according to the BBC news channel.

Why can the BBC not move on and come back to the story when they have things to actually report, not speculation.

Not really sure why you are directing this just at the BBC...
The other British news Channels are doing exactly the same, just switch on Sky News for example.

Further to that its the lead story with frequent updates on every British newspaper website, from Broadsheet to Tabloid.

This is the very nature of rolling news coverage, simply don't watch it if it annoys you. Plus you can still see the other news stories quite easily if you want to.

That's very true, I've just got the BBC news on because I really don't like Sky news :p.

Anyway. 2000 words to write for a deadline later tonight. I've got to go be productive.
