Dead Space 3 Demo

I liked DS2, but this is just a shooter, it even has a cover system,

WHAT!

Say it isn't true :(

I adore DS, and DS2 was great fun (if a bit more action orientated), but this is sounding more and more like they've just thrown away what made DS so great :(

Bit off topic but I played Dead Space (original) and loved it, is 2 worth playing? i've just seen a video for Dead Space 3 and it looks like it's going the retarded resident Evil way now. :(

Yeah Dead Space 2 was still very good, or at least I thought it was.

Cheers. one last question, does it have the retarded but with the flickering lights I had on the PC? Basically the flickering lights used to sort of glitch out, not sure how to describe it but imagine a laser light show. Does the PC version of Dead Space 2 work O.K?

It's the same sort of 'gameplay' as Dead Space, it was just stripped of all the atmosphere and attention to detail that made the first game so great. Felt like a hollow shell in comparison.

Seeing what happened with ME3 and their move to a more action-orientated game I'm not suprised that DS3 has gone the same way. All of these EA games are merging towards each other and loosing their identity just so EA can turn a quick buck at the expense of a franchise.

I really like DS1 and even 2 but the moment they mentioned COOP I switched off. Is it even true that there is a cover system in place? That's just sad really. Just running out of ideas to keep the dev cycles short to save money. Which is fine and they're entitled to do whatever they want with their property but all I know is that I will be giving this a miss.

Unfortunately, Dead Space wasn't a huge seller whereas this one will probably sell by the bucketload because of the audience it's catered for. Such a shame.

Played through the demo earlier and it was pretty good. The start of the demo definitely had a dead space feel to it and then the quick time events came in which gave it the same feel as Resident Evil. It then finishes up with a bit of gears of war with the cover system!

It will certainly be a good game and it will excel for co-op play with the two characters getting different gameplay but it's definitely a departure from what dead space was really about.

Just got my code emailed to me today and can't download the demo. It's just sitting at 0%, tried cancelling and restarting it but no luck, anyone else had a similar problem?

I've just finished the Demo and thought it was pretty good. It's not the DS that I was expecting which is a shame but it played well, looked nice and I'll certainly be keeping it on my pre-orders.

Yeah Dead Space 2 was still very good, or at least I thought it was.

So did I, nothing will top the first one because it was like the shawshank redemption when that came out. Little initial interest and then spread word of mouth.

I had a run through of DS 1 again last year, it wasn't as great the 2nd time and you realise how samey the setting and creatures are, but my god it was awesome the first time. I still need to do the hard run through of DS1.

Played the demo, and it was just as I expected. Zero atmosphere, poor voice acting, characters I didn't care about (including Isaac, ever since he started swearing in DS2_, and too much focus action and weapons.

Seems like a reasonably competent attempt at the generic TPS space/action genre, but it doesn't deserve the Dead Space name on the box.
