New Corvette C7

The Z06 Has a horrific interior though, but I suppose someone looking at this sort of car wants the powaaa! and isn't too fussed about the interior.

They are 30k now for a 5yr old car. Similar money gets you a far older 996 Turbo which interior is also dated, though albeit better. Though 30k also gets you a mint M5 too, though I suppose M5, 911 Turbo, Vette all appeal to very different customers. They all have their love and hates! :)

You say that but I've sat in worse (or similar) interiors in more costly cars. Plus the running costs are a fraction of some of its rivals, much more durable too.

What will it be like on bends, as we all know yanks cant make cars that handle.

I really don't get this myth that is spewed from people who have more than likely never owned a Corvette or ever had the pleasure of driving one whilst making progress.. They seriously do go round corners, they go round corners well. I know it's not much to use as a baseline, but check the Nurburg timings for the Corvette Z06 and the Corvette C6 Z51... they are amongst/ahead some quick European cars.

The interior definitely isn't German, but some of the kit on it makes me feel like it's a fighter jet. The Z06 is definitely more than acceptable inside, but the real purchase power is in the performance you get with the RWD, V8, Manual package you can pick up for sensible money.

Back onto the C7. Wow. I think it will take a while to grow on me as an American muscle car alongside the Corvette range, but that's just because it looks so European in places. Definitely a touch of Fezza in there and I do like it, but I'm still keen on the styling of the C5/C6.

I found a UK Corvette dealer selling them for £50k. I suspect it will come down to £40k as the stock increases.

What? £50k sounds like good value to me? How much is the equivalent Porsche, or M6? Or AMG? Or whatever else can even hope to compete with this car.

It looks seriously stunning.

top gear, like you needed to ask !

"If you want a plastic left hand drive car, with Vietnamese suspension, here t is"

Videos like this don't help either with the "all American cars are crap" vibe

So, the gate pattern for that will be like this?

Code:
1 3 5 7
| | | |
2 4 6 R

or

Code:
R 1 3 5 7
\ | | | /
  2 4 6

Clarkson really loved the ZR1 on the american road trip though, and I would say the new one definitely looks better.

He also quite liked the Zo6 in the video that gibbo posted. But i never said it was true, just saying where people get this **** from that all american cars can't go round corners.

I think its said more in jest than anything else, much like British people being labled posh and what not.

I take it the engine will be a large v8 with a supercharger? Not sure these cars would have the same character with turbochargers.
