Hi guys how are you?

Firts of all sorry for my english, I`m from Brazil

So, i`m doing an OC to my 3770k and i have some doubts

I got stable 4.5 turbo off HT on with 1.2 vcore/1.5 PLL and LLC Turbo

I have a Corsair H100 here, and passed 20 times IBT Maximum 20 times no error

But the temps i think it`s not so good, about 87C in the hottest core, i know that IBT pushs a lot, even more at the max possible, but this temps are ok?

If not how can i improve my temps?

My Motherboard is Gigabyte GA-Z77X-D3H and my Bios version is F16

The thermal paste i`m using is the MX 4 one and used the pea method to apply this time

Thanks :)

Temps are fine, but 20runs in ibt is too much, only do 5 runs then 1-3hours prime95 blend test,if no errors then its fine,it won't ever reach 87c in normal use

But even with a H100 the temps are ok?

When i saw about almost 90C in IBT i got a little scared

Thanks

Ivybridge does run hot,I don't think you can improve on voltages to lower temps, and its hot if your in Brazil? Compared to the UK climate, you could change the h100 fans maybe?

Intels thermal limit is 105c for those cpu's but I'd try to stay below 80-90c if you can

I`ll try to change fans, it`s an idea

But if it can`t low the temps i can stay with this ok for safe right?

I know it`s not a heavy game, but played about an hours of BO2 and temp max was about 60-64, can`t remember now

Thanks again

You can also add another 2 fans to the H100 and have them running in a push/pull combination.

Can try llc high and keep offset as it is? I doubt you'd be able to get 4.5ghz stable with less than 1.2v though but its worth a try

Less than 1.20 i`m getting BSOD

4.5ghz not working on under 1.2 isn't unheard of. Mine personally seems to like going as high as 1.3 vcore to get perfectly stable on 4.5ghz.

The temperatures you are seeing are safe, although I would say that I would expect less heat from a H100 if you're running a 3770K at 1.2v. What heatsink paste (TIM) are you using? Also how did you apply it?

Artic MX4 Thermal Paste

Used the pea method to Apply

Should i apply with another method?

Thanks

No that sounds about right... what about the airflow in your case?

I'm not saying that there's definitely something wrong... but you're getting higher temps than I was with my air-cooled heat sink prior to delidding, so it sounds like your H100 is under performing to me.

yea, your temps are fine mate, if in doubt then buy a couple of cheap fans and get the temps down a little, but they are fine the way they are ;)

But i got 67-71C playing about 2 hours of Far Cry 3

Even with this temps gaming is ok?

I would like to delide, saw some videos that shows a huge temperature drop, but if something goes wrong i don`t have money to buy another one, so i`m scared about do that

Mate, get in the bios and go into the cpu voltage settings and make the voltages "offset" if your board allows you to do that.

That way your voltage will drop on the cpu when its not under stress and then get higher the more stress you put it under (like playing games etc), and if things are all set good you should also hear your fans getting faster and slower too doing the same thing.

Thats the way I have mines setup (offset cpu voltage) and it works a treat, but it does take quite a while working out what setting work best etc, but thats the joys of overclocking, isnt it, lol ;)

Good luck. ;)

p.s
use a good programme to monitor your tempreature on all cores of your cpu :)

As above, you want to use something like CoreTemp to monitor the temperatures.

Also, what is the ambient (room) temperature where you are roughly? I imagine it's going to be reasonably warm there compared to most of us in the UK :p.
