I want to create a 2160p display out of 4x 24" 1080p LED IPS panels, but only if i can remove all but say 2mm of bezel.

1. Remove plastic casing of choice panel.
2. Disembody the panel from the metallic casing.
3. Rebuild into a custom panel holder with absolute minimum bezel, only just stopping screen falling to the ground.

Steps 2-3; thoughts and experiences, please.

interesting bit of a pain if one of the screens die thou due to it not being covered any longer by warranty if taking the panels apart

custom panel holder may not be able to be reused due to it being made for a certain type of monitor

look up wall screens might give u some better ideas

If you can find a monitor that you can remove the bezel but still use the VESA mounts, then this would work beautifully

The question is... why? Ive seen the Gigabyte demonstration where theyve got 4 monitors set up as 4K but that is a bit of a gimmick in my view - the whole point of a 4K monitor is to have higher DPI. So the Gigabyte method means you have 4 times the real estate with 4 times the pixels so the DPI is still the same as a 24" at 1080p...

EDIT: Actually - do you know what i'd do: I'd try and find the 4 smallest 1080p screens that you can get - I believe there is a sony vaio 14" 1080p panel

that would mean 28" @ 4K (157DPI)
as oppose to 48" @ 4K (92DPI)

If you wanted to take that to the extreme there are smartphones with 1080p screens @ 440DPI you could make into a 10" screen :p

Oh wait! actually with 16 1080p smartphone screens you could make an 8K monitor that is 20" - that would be EPIC :D

To clarify;

I'm thinking 4x21" as 16:9 of 1080P.

When i say custom screen holder, it is something i will weld and create for this purpose only. I don't care about resale.

When i speak on this setup the idea is to have 2x2 monitors without the prison bars.

32" 1080P vs 38" 2160P, dramatic difference, years ahead of what the market can provide me with at very low cost.
