Hi,
I was planning to get a AsRock 990FX Extreme3 Motherboard
with a AMD Bulldozer FX-6100 6 Core Processor, So i was wondering what graphic card would be the best for that setup.
Thanks,
Kieran.

Ok, I just had a quick look around and two of them caught my eye:
-Asus HD 7770
-MSI HD 7850
Spec wise the Asus is best, but what will be compatible with the Motherboard and Processor.
Thanks,
Kieran.

Ok, Thanks. Is there any other suggestions for Motherboards and Processors that may be better (same price) or same quality (maybe a little more expensive). I am a PC gamer and i want the graphics and the quality to play all the latest games.
Thanks,
Kieran.

i'd recommend a 7950, with a decent OC on that 6100

im running one with a fx-6200 and cant really tell of the bottleneck. the only time i notice it is when i see the score from 3dmark11.

even in BF3, which is apparently quite cpu demanding, it doesn't get let down by the BD, but then the most i've played so far was a 32man map.

What's your overall budget? I take it you only need CPU, motherboard and GPU or do you need the whole lot?

Intel offers more performance CPU wise, games don't use that many cores so it's best to get something with a good IPC (Instructions Per Clock, which the FX is pretty poor at).

£200 for your BD+990FX.
£260 for i5 3570k and a Z77-D3H

Hell, getting yourself a 6300 instead of a 6100 would be an upgrade for an extra £17! lol.

Intel is superior in IPC, so games where your cores are next to useless is where you'll get a huge bottleneck, even in games like 64mp BF3, an i3 would offer the same if not better framerates (32mp not so much)

Well for some reason i have just taken to AMD because I thought they may be better with gaming components, But I am willing to accept any suggestions for Intel components. I do only need a GPU, CPU and motherboard for £200-£240. So any suggestions for either AMD or Intel. But the need is still Gaming, So the best i can get to run modern games.
Thanks,
Kieran.

Don't know how to do the link thing people do.
Swapping the 7850 for a 7770 is a viable option as there is currently a 7770 on offer for £80, very decent price for a more than capable GPU.

What i posted would run all the same games at higher details and framerates (the determining factor being the GPU) if we knocked the GPU down from the 7850>7770 then both rigs would preform in an ideal workload identically, however due to the SBs higher IPC, the intel rig would give better minimums and a more consistent framerate as the 4core BDs are terrible :D

What power supply do you have? While the 7850 would be an excellent card to get there's no point if your PSU can't power it. If it's an unbranded PSU then the 7770 may be the safer option.
