Seems like a steal. Any reasons why I shouldn't buy this card over anything else 670/7950/7970 flavoured?

I think I'm right in saying the performance tops/pretty much equals everything that isn't a 680 or 690 card or the hideously expensive limited edition 7990s - is that right?

<edit> Would only having 2048mb memory affect the choice over the 3072mb amd cards? Currently gaming at 1920x1080 though I may go for triple screen 22" or 24" setup or a single 27" @ 120 or 144hz in the future.

If your going to go surround/eyefinity the AMD cards fair better than Nvidia.

If your staying at 1080 res either would perform well

People also used to claim the world was flat :D

It's down to the old silicon lottery on how well the cards overclocks

Isn't that a poor overclocker due to being locked? This 670 card has people claiming 1300 Mhz!

I also thought it was locked, but it turns out that it's the 7970 Windforce that is locked. The 7950 is unlocked and they seem to get good overclocks on average too.

Not a bad price at all for a 670 and if you favour Nvidia, a good choice. Full 680 pcb to boot.

Still £36 more than the 7950 WFx3 but getting there :)

Remember its not a reference 680 PCB (like a 670 WF). Its a custom made PCB by Galaxy/KFA2 :)

Getting a good clocker on Kepler is 100% down to luck due to the initial lack of voltage control, well unless you buy PE/LTG/SOC/Classy that have voltage control, in which case you'll have increased odds of hitting a high clock.

That said a 670 at 1200mhz will completely fly at 1080 I can assure you of that, which should be within reach for the KFA2 card.

Maybe this sort of price is an indication of these price cuts that have been mentioned around the interweb. Of course this is just a guess.:-)

I have this exact card And although it is a very good gfx card the one i have i have had to down clock 15mhz on the core as it sometimes causes " driver not responding" error. Tried higher voltage but does nothing.

You might get a good clocking card that you dont have to down clock, the memory however does overclock to around +500 mhz so its not all bad.

I do wish however that i did not have to down clock the core even though it is only 15mhz for the card to be stable.

Good luck in whatever you choose.

You could RMA it. It isn't performing 'as it should'. I know RMA is a pain but KFA2 are the old BFG and have a very good reputation. RMA shouldn't take long.

Ahhh But to be without farcry 3 among other games, i dont know if i can be bothered.

I did not send a mobo back a few years ago as it was advertised wrong and i was told i could have another brand new one, in the end i just kept it as it was less hassle.

More mug me really but i would rather have a working desktop pc, and i would probably get the same card sent back in 3 weeks anyway with no fault found.

:)
