was out sledging with the kids earlier where i found a Blackberry Curve buried in the snow. Battery had died so have charged it up. Gained access to the contacts and managed to contact the kids dad who is coming to fetch it later.

I know many people would have kept it etc but if it was mine or my lads then i know i'd have hoped someone else would have done the right thing and done the same as me by returning it.

i did think why someone would want to keep it but a bunch of kids were saying they'd have it etc.

to some it's nothing special but to the 13yr old lad who's it is it's worth a lot

He was probably trying to get rid of the piece of junk and the snow was a convenient excuse. Now you've ruined it for him. I hope you're happy.

I call shenanigans!

There's no way you would have gotten a Blackberry to actually do something useful (unless it was water damaged from the snow I suppose...)

Someone did this for me once. Some Polish guy had found the phone, contacted my mother and I went to meet him. He had even walked a good mile in order to meet up with me. I gave him some beer money for his efforts. I was very chuffed as expected never to see it again.

Nice one. :)

Personally I find the act of doing the decent thing far more rewarding then the actual item, either way I bet more people would have kept the phone then you would think.

I once found a wallet at a tescos garage with £50 in it. I found an address on the drivers license in the wallet and shoved it through their letter box on the way home with the £50 still in it. It made me feel good for a couple of days anyway. :)

Good for you, recently my son left his iphone on the bus amazingly someone handed it to the bus driver and he got it back!! These things do happen
