Is a protruding rear bumper a MOT failure?

Got bumped from behind in the snow. Now the bumper protrudes a maximum distance of about 2 cm. You can push it back in but it tends to snap out again. Protrusion is not sharp.

Must be a "Civic" feature when the rear bumper is "bumped". Mine is exactly the same, even though it's a 2003!
Not failed the last two MOT's, it's on my to-do list to fix though.

You could just replace the 50p worth of plastic clip and do it properly of course.

This TBH. There is a hole for either a clip or screw visible in that picture. Would take no more than half an hour or so to get that sorted properly even for a spanner like me.

That will pass a MOT easily but funnily if it was a kit car or prototype it would fail the SVA/IVA...

Depends on how old /rest of the car is. you can either fix with new clip and solder or the magical properties of gaffa tape.
