Hey,
Got a RAZR HD from Canada last week, but had to wait for a SIM unlock code before I could use it! If you are intending to get one, I would advise going for the World version, as it supports UK LTE bands.
My initial impressions:
I cancelled my Nexus 4 order to go for this phone instead, and I feel like I made the right call. The RAZR HD set me back slightly less than Nexus 4 would have, and I trust Moto BQ much more than LG's!
Not sure if anyone cares about Motorola any more
but if you have any specific questions, please do ask
Cheers,
Su
Got a RAZR HD from Canada last week, but had to wait for a SIM unlock code before I could use it! If you are intending to get one, I would advise going for the World version, as it supports UK LTE bands.
My initial impressions:
- Build quality is excellent and it feels great in the hand. The kevlar back has a slightly rubbery touch which makes it nice to grip. BQ is light years ahead of my Nexus S and Optimus 7
- Nice and snappy, as you'd expect from any dual core Krait device
- Still rocking Android 4.0.4 which is not cool... ICS (4.1.2) coming in the next few weeks apparently. The US and World versions were upgraded in early December, but the Canadian one is lagging slightly
- Screen is lovely, but the whites have a noticeable yellow tinge on them compared to my Nexus S (both are AMOLED)
- Battery life is excellent. I'm only on my second full charge cycle, but currently 69%, 23hrs on battery, 1 hour of screen time (didn't use much yesterday)
- Software is pretty dang close to stock Android, with some nice tweaks... coming from a Nexus, this is good
- SmartActions seems like a great program - need to spend more time customising this
- The notification LED is basically the greatest LED of all time - I need to buy Lightflow so that I can really put it to use
I cancelled my Nexus 4 order to go for this phone instead, and I feel like I made the right call. The RAZR HD set me back slightly less than Nexus 4 would have, and I trust Moto BQ much more than LG's!

I've seen people list them for as low as $350, so if you can line up a seller and time it with a trip over, you can score a total bargain!
